Extras for Jaghbub etc files

Here are some tools and additions for use with the Jaghbub set of fonts. They are not required for running the fonts, they are only there if you want to play with them.

Keyboard layouts

To type Jaghbub in any other country than Norway or Sweden can be a harrowing experience, as the font is made for the keyboards used in these countries. To be able to access the keys properly, you need to install a small keyboard layout plugin. This puts the Jaghbub letters in their logical place on the keyboard.

The basic package includes a US keyboard layout for Jaghbub, which is OK for the UK (and to some extent also Britain and Holland). But if you live in another country, you may want to have something that retains the national standard of that country, as well as including Jaghbub. For this reason, I have included four other layouts, for the UK, France, Germany and Denmark in this Extras package in addition the basic US one.

To install

(1) Drop the national keyboard of your choice on top of the System folder. It will ask if it is OK to install in the System file, click Yes. (You must quit programs for the System to allow this). You do not need to restart.

(2) Choose the keyboard layout, either from the keyboards menu (if you have one in the menu, e.g. for WorldScript-enabled Macs), or from the Keyboards control panel.

You may choose it permanently or just when typing in Jaghbub. All characters not affected by Jaghbub will be the same as the standard, but those symbols replaced by diacritcs (, etc) will be different. In general, the symbols you e.g. see painted on the top row are the same in the diacs and standard keyboards.

If you have a keyboards menu in the menu line, notice that keyboards chosen there are temporary choices which are not rememberd after restart, while the a keyboard choice in the control panel becomes standard, and is remembered until you change back in the same panel.
